By joining AEGIS and recommending accredited Guardianship Organisations, you can be sure that your pupils are in the care of Guardianship Organisations which:

1. have passed a full inspection of all aspects of their care of students and their business practices, including finances. These inspections are carried out by experienced Ofsted and ISI Inspectors;

2. have the support of the BSA, HMC, GSA, SHMIS, SBSA, IAPS, ISA, the Independent Schools Council, the British Council, Social Services, the DfES, the DTI and Child Safe;

3. are run by professionals experienced in both childcare and education;

4. are fully insured and comply with British law, Social Service and the National Boarding Standards requirements;

5. maintain contact at all times with the overseas parent, the school, the child and will attend Parent-Teacher meetings;

6. have a member of staff contactable 24 hours a day, ready to deal with all problems;

7. have appropriate comprehensive guidelines on care, including emergency procedures for the child, the overseas parent, the guardianship family and the school;

8. organise a home for a student with a British family. The family will have been carefully selected and have been visited and vetted in accordance with the law. The family will offer children the opportunity to speak English and learn about British culture and way of life;

9. draw up adequate and appropriate contracts or agreements with:
  • The guardianship family

  • The overseas parent or educational institution
10. provide both pastoral support and educational guidance in accordance with the individual contracts;

11. attend AEGIS conferences and seminars at a reduced rate.
